Did you know: Of the 27 million babies born in India annually, 3.6 million
are born prematurely. UNICEF

DSF, has a long established relationship with India based doctors that have advised in the formulation of our medical projects. This local support ensures
relevant and sustainable services as well as regular project monitoring.

There are two main areas of work in
healthcare:

1) Child Welfare camps – in partnership with local doctors, DSF has been
running health awareness camps for children. Here children from
surrounding villages are brought into our centre, given a full complimentary
health check up, advised on basic health issues (such as hygiene, nutrition etc.) able to play in the grounds and given a full meal before being taken home.

2) Mobile Health Camps – In 2009 DSF fundraised for a large SUV vehicle
through which we run mobile health camps in remote rural villages in
partnership with local doctors.
