Anand Dham Centre

Did you know: Of the 104 million children 6 to 11 not in school, 60 million are girls. Nearly 40 percent of those girls live in sub-Saharan Africa and 35 percent in South Asia, (UNFPA)

As published by UNICEF factors that lower girls’ school attendance include: fees for tuition, transport, books or uniforms; cultural biases; lack of female teachers; lack of sanitary napkins; sexual harassment or abuse; and child marriage.

Recognising the need to have regular activities and a base in the communities
we serve, DSF built a community centre in Malataj, Gujarat called ‘Anand Dham’ (the home of bliss).

Murtis of both Jalaram Bapa and Sankat Mochan Hanumanji have been installed there with regular Hanuman Chalisa recitals and religious programmes taking place in the hall, followed by langar prashad. It contains a medical centre where free checkups are given by a local doctor and appropriate medicine is distributed to patients every afternoon. The centre also has a Gaushala (cow sanctuary) which was inaugurated by Pujya Rambapa – who is patron of the trust – and Kantabaa in 2012.
